FAQ: Our Move to the 1st Floor

We’re excited to announce that Innovation Cluster is moving to a fresh new space on the 1st floor this December! Here are answers to common questions about our move and what to expect.

The decision to move our office is driven by the evolving needs of our clients and the changing dynamics of the market. We recognized an opportunity to relocate to a more suitable space that brings our people together to improve collaboration, decrease costs by reducing real estate footprint, create a better environment for client/employee retention and satisfaction, and improve space utilization. The move will allow us to serve our clients better and adapt to the demands of the industry.

The office move is expected to occur during the week of Dec 6th. Before the move, the new space will undergo renovations during November. We anticipate these activities will minimally disrupt our staff or tenants.

The new office will be on the first floor of our current building, Venture North. The entire Innovation Cluster staff will be moving into the former offices of PKED on the first floor. This proximity allows for a smooth transition while enabling us to maintain our presence in a familiar environment.

The move to the former offices of PKED on the first floor of Venture North offers several benefits. This space facilitates collaboration and innovation, aligning perfectly with our mission. Additionally, remaining within the same building minimizes disruption for our team and clients. The updated facilities will provide a more efficient and welcoming environment, enhancing our ability to meet the evolving needs of our clients and the market.

While our office space will be smaller, we will continue to host our workshops, events, and programming in the downstairs conference rooms of Venture North. These rooms are better equipped to accommodate larger audiences and are quieter.

Alana Currier, our Director of Operations, who is experienced in managing office relocations, will coordinate the move. We are implementing a comprehensive plan to ensure a smooth transition, including logistics for transporting equipment and materials.

We do not anticipate significant disruptions to our services or programming during the move. Our team is committed to maintaining operational continuity, and we will take necessary measures to minimize any impact. We will communicate any temporary interruptions in advance to our clients and stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed and prepared.

The new location will allow us to increase our capacity for hosting events, workshops, and networking opportunities by utilizing the larger conference rooms on the ground floor. The new offices enable the Innovation Cluster to collaborate more efficiently. This move will help the staff strengthen our partnerships with local and regional businesses and educational institutions, ultimately contributing to Peterborough’s economic growth.

The new office will continue to offer our existing services and programming, including advisory programs, limited coworking spaces, and access to resources for entrepreneurs. We also plan to introduce additional programs and initiatives in 2025.

For more information, please contact Alana Currier, Director of Operation, at adall@innovationcluster.ca or Christine Crandell, Vice Chair of the board at board@innovationcluster.ca. We are happy to answer any questions.

The new space is designed to foster collaboration, creativity, and innovation, which are core to our mission. With more flexible workspaces and state-of-the-art facilities, we are better positioned to support our community and drive entrepreneurial success.

No changes to staff and roles are expected due to the move.
